2008 Most Remarkable Websites - Suggestion box

Marie's picture
While I surf through the net each day, I have come across some really remarkable websites/blogs. By remarkable, I mean worth making a comment about. It could be because the site offers very useful information, adds value to what I'm doing, or contains interesting or humorous content - but content that stands out from the rest of the pack.

As you know, our site promotes ideas that spread therefore, I thought it would be an interesting concept to find out from our readers (yes that's right, I'm looking at YOU), if you could tell me some of the most remarkable websites you have found out there on the world wide web. I am certain there are sooooo many out there that I haven't even heard of, that's why I'm asking for your help :)

As for myself, one website I found absolutely remarkable, is a site called We Feel Fine. It has a really unique and interesting concept. It searches the world's newly posted blog entries for occurrences of the phrases "I feel" and "I am feeling" and then collates the data and displays it in an innovative way. It's almost like looking into the soul of all the people around the world as it captures how people are feeling when they use these phrases...it is really remarkable. If you're interested in checking out this site just click here.

By sharing with the rest of our readers, the sites you think are worth making a remark about, we can all spread the word and ideas together.

So post a comment with:
  1. Website name/url
  2. And why you think it's worth talking about
I look forward to your suggestions. Thank you in advance for taking the time to share with us :)

Good Idea

That's certainly a good idea and right off hand I can't think of any, but when I do I'll be back to share with you.

I love One Sentence:

I love One Sentence: http://www.onesentence.org

From the site: "One Sentence is about telling your story, briefly. Insignificant stories, everyday stories, or turning-point-in-your-life stories, boiled down to their bare essentials."

It's tough to do well. Readers vote submissions up or down. The ones voted most popular are real gems. Check it out.

Just found this

Hey Kathy, Funny you mentioned OneSentence, I submitted a one sentence story a few weeks ago. :) Very interesting site.

Anyway,I found this really cool online bookstore a few hours ago.It gives you the feeling of browsing a real bookstore. Purchases are redirected to Amazon. It's not perfect yet (beta stage and runs slow on Firefox 3) and only in 2D but I still find it cool.

My Funny Dad, Harry

This is an unusual blog--haven't found another like it yet. It's all about my dad who died last year and the book I wrote about him in his memory. Has some tips on living, preparing for dying, lots of pictures, all about him and his cats.

A very good mobile content site

To my big surprise there is a site out there that doesn't trick mobile consumers to buy expensive subscriptions ..I know that this might be boring to you but I'm a gadget freak and love getting ringtones and wallpapers on my phone. Anyway, the site is http://www.zedge.net in case you want to see it. To me this site is remarkable!
